Luck, a fluke, a meltdown by Temple — whatever you call it, Penn State survived in the first round of the NIT Wednesday night and now gets to travel to take on Notre Dame in Round 2. The Nittany Lions were dominated by the Owls, but used a big fourth quarter, including a 14-0 run, to shock Temple and advance in the tournament.
Penn State struggled for the majority of the game against the Owls and go only two points from star guard Tony Carr. However, Josh Reaves stepped up in a big way and pitched in 19 points and 11 rebounds.
