Head coach Patrick Chambers and his Penn State Nittany Lions had the XFINITY Center nervous for much of the game Wednesday by posting a double-digit second half lead on the No. 4 Maryland Terrapins. However, Maryland was too strong in the final minutes and sent Penn State back to Happy Valley with a 70-64 loss.
Penn State opened the game strong and took the lead midway through the first period. The Nittany Lions never looked back and carried a surprising 31-23 lead into the half. The second half was much of the same as Penn State continued to lead the heavily-favored Terrapins.
