The Penn State Nittany Lions ended the regular season in dramatic fashion, pulling out a double-overtime victory over Illinois on Sunday. Despite holding a double-digit lead in the second half, Penn State let Illinois come back, but eventually pulled away for the 86-79 win.
It was a good overall game for the Nittany Lions, who had been struggling to shoot and score recently. They shot 45 percent from the field in this one, including 44 percent from long range.
Penn State was lead by the usual duo of Shep Garner and Brandon Taylor. Garner led the way with 22 points and six assists, while Taylor contributed 21 points and 11 rebounds.
