Not uncommon for Penn State, the team looked to its consistent starting pitchers and reliable bullpen for the Nittany Lions’ sixth consecutive win.
Right hander Eli Nabholz entered Medlar Field on a 6.00 ERA and delivered a performance that minimized his average by 81 points.
The starting pitcher left the game after five strong innings in which he allowed just one run on two hits and five strikeouts by pumping out meticulous fastballs.
Nabholz said he feels more comfortable on the mound knowing he has a competitive offense and a steady defense behind him.
