On Friday night, Penn State was put up to a challenging test: continue its eight-game winning streak against the team with the best conference record in the Big Ten.
The Nittany Lions lost that challenge and suffered their first home loss since the team’s home opener, during Michigan State’s 7-0 shutout on Friday night led by Spartan starting pitcher Cam Vieaux at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
“You have to tip your hat to Michigan State,” coach Rob Cooper. “Tonight they outplayed us in all facets.”
The Lions’ (17-13, 4-3 Big Ten) lefty starter Taylor Lehman only made it through 3.
