Following a strong win on Friday to open the road series, Penn State took on Michigan in a Saturday afternoon battle for the second in a three-game series.
Despite Penn State’s fifth inning surge, the Wolverines held on to win 8-7.
Shortstop Ryan Weingartner took the leadoff spot once again for the Nittany Lions, a spot also held by center fielder Paxton Kling and right fielder Cohl Mercado this season.
While Kling got into scoring position after a swinging-bunt single, the Nittany Lions were held scoreless in the away half of the first.
Flipping sides, Mason Horwat was on the bump for Penn State.
