Less than a year ago, Penn State put the baseball world on watch. Slated as the No. 8 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, the Nittany Lions’ Cinderella run ended in a crushing 2-1 defeat against Nebraska in the championship game.
Now, less than a year later, the page is turning on a new season, and the ghosts of years past are still lingering.
“I think people were very surprised externally that we got in the Big Ten tournament, and they were very surprised when we had a chance to win it, but we weren’t,” coach Mike Gambino said.
