Penn State baseball struggles with bats, errors in loss to Stetson

Following a decisive win in its first game of the season against Missouri, Penn State took on Stetson in a noon start in its second game of the Puerto Rico Challenge.

After a 10 run performance Friday, the Nittany Lion bats went cold as they fell to Stetson 8-4.

Matt Morash started on the mound for the Nittany Lions. With two runners in scoring position and two outs, Ryan Weingartner committed an error at shortstop allowing both runners to score.

Nate Voss caught a runner stealing to close out Morash’s 32-pitch first inning.

Paxton Kling ripped the first pitch he saw over the third baseman’s head for a single to start the home half of the inning but was picked off and Penn State was held scoreless, trailing, 2-0, after the first.
