In baseball, when two underperforming teams meet, someone is bound to come out on top.
That will be the case this weekend when Penn State takes on Xavier in a three-game set at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Nittany Lions enter the series with an 11-30 record, while the Musketeers are not much better with a mark of 16-32.
"Don't make a mistake and look at Xavier's record and think, 'these guys can't play'," coach Rob Cooper told GoPSUsports. "They know how to win, they expect to win and they'll be good."
The Musketeers have made the NCAA Tournament each of the past two seasons, but will have to fight their way into Big East Tournament position and win the Big East Championship in order to receive a third consecutive berth.
