Penn State wrapped up the 2024 season with a 29-24 record, including its deepest Big Ten Tournament run since 2000, where it lost to Nebraska 2-1 in the championship. This year, the Nittany Lions will have the opportunity to make it even further.
A mix of Penn State experience, transfers and freshman talent make up Mike Gambino’s roster, and it all starts with the infield.
The Nittany Lions took their biggest statistical loss behind the plate with the departure of J.T. Marr. Marr hit .416 with 54 RBIs and just 25 strikeouts. Having split between catcher and designated hitter, Gambino will look to the next primary catcher.
