After decades dwelling in the basement of the Big Ten, Penn State baseball is poised to pounce into the national scene.
America’s pastime has long been neglected among the Nittany Lion faithful, with meager attendance numbers on par with a lack of success on the diamond.
But the 2024 campaign marked the start of a new era for Penn State baseball, one which brings much optimism for the future — an unfamiliar position for the program.
This season, Penn State went .500 in conference play, suffered losses to Monmouth, Davidson, UMass Lowell, St. Bonaventure and Kent State, and failed to reach the NCAA Tournament — for some schools, this would be considered a disappointment.
