A reunion is headed to Happy Valley courtesy of the transfer portal.
Former Boston College outfielder Cohl Mercado announced he will be transferring to Penn State on Instagram Sunday, reuniting him with former Eagles and now Nittany Lion bench boss Mike Gambino.
Mercado appeared in just seven games this past season, but played 43 games and totaled 39 hits and 26 RBIs in 2023.
Gambino made a splash with his transfer portal work in Year 1 in State College and has continued with that same philosophy bringing in new faces during the offseason.
