Looking to snap a three-game losing streak, Penn State embarked on their spring break road trip to the Southwest. Quality pitching was hard to come by for the Nittany Lions at the USA Baseball complex, and on this trip, the wheels continued to fall off the bus.
Penn State salvaged one win of a three-game series against UCSB, and then proceeded to get swept by Grand Canyon University, also a three-game set.
The common theme of the trip was the inability to finish games and poor bullpen pitching. Of the five games they lost, the blue and white held a multi-run lead in the seventh inning or later, twice.
