Penn State baseball gets shut out in loss to UCSB

True to form, Penn State’s pitching let another small deficit slip into what proved to be insurmountable lead.

The Nittany Lions fell to UCSB 4-0 Sunday, their fifth loss in a row.

Left-hander Taylor Lehman pitched five strong innings for Penn State, allowing two earned runs on five hits.

The Nittany Lions were abysmal at the plate, with catcher Ryan Sloniger registering the only hit for Penn State. The two-out single up the middle in the first inning proved to be the last hit of the game for the blue and white.

For the Gauchos, starter Noah Davis pitched six shutout innings, striking out nine.
