In the Nittany Lions 6-2 loss to the Tigers on Saturday in Richmond, Virginia, the pitching tag-team combined for all nine innings and allowed just six hits.
Stieber picked up his first win of the season, going six innings and giving up the Lions’ only runs of the game. The right-hander struck out six and walked two In relief, Giglio sealed the game, pitching a hitless three innings.
For the Lions (5-8), the loss snapped a three-game winning streak but in the other dugout Saturday’s game was the Tigers’ (1-3) first win of the season.
