Rutgers cruised through one Penn State batter to the next as the Nittany Lions dropped their second straight game in a row on Friday afternoon.
Howie Brey pitched his seventh career complete game in the Scarlet Knights’ 5-0 win over the Lions in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Brey sat down 13 Lion batters in a row before he delivered his first walk of the day in the top of the ninth inning.
Though they swung hard, the Lions’ offense had a hard time against Brey as they appeared low in energy and enthusiasm.
