Penn State baseball defeated by Illinois in high-scoring affair

It was a battle of the offenses today in Illinois, as the Nittany Lions faced the Illini in the second game of their three-game series.

Illinois took home the win 7-6, setting up the possibility for the series sweep on Sunday.

Eric Mock got the start on the mound for Penn State, pitching five total innings. Illinois got out to a quick start, scoring five runs in the first inning. Ben Troike got it started with a single, followed by hits from Michael Massey and Zac Taylor. Troike went on to score the first run of the game for Illinois, followed by a triple by Cam McDonald, knocking Taylor and Massey in.
