Finally, Penn State found an elusive fourth win after an opening weekend sweep of Elon that seems like an eternity ago.
While the first two games of their series against the University of California, Santa Barbara were lopsided defeats, the Nittany Lions finally emerged from their recent woes and bested the Gauchos 8-7 on Monday in Santa Barbara.
The win not only snaps a five-game losing streak for Penn State, but it also ends a recent period of poor performances on offense.
The Nittany Lions were shut out in their previous game and were only averaging just over three runs per game in their five-game skid.
