The Penn State Nittany Lions find themselves on the road today for the third time in four weeks. On tap is a difficult matchup with the Northwestern Wildcats, a team that’s given the Nittany Lions problems in recent years.
Penn State has been led by its dominating defense for much of the year, and that was evident last week in a 39-0 shutout of Illinois. However, Northwestern quarterback Clayton Thorson is a dual-threat quarterback, and the Nittany Lions have really struggled to stop running quarterbacks this season.
The Wildcats began this season with five-straight wins, including a Week 1 upset of Stanford, before losing to Michigan and Iowa.
