The Penn State Nittany Lions nearly pulled the upset on Friday against Iowa. Were Penn State able to close out the deficit they faced all game against the Hawkeyes, maybe that turns out differently.
That was the key the Nittany Lions faced against a Michigan squad that can score just as quickly as Iowa can, but has a defense that is no where near as forgiving as the one they faced in Iowa City.
The early returns showed the Lions were up to the task. While they trailed for much of the first half, that deficit never grew past six points.
