Penn State 7, Ohio State 6 (SO): Oh Captain, My Captain

After falling behind 3-0 in the second period, Penn State defeated No. 9 Ohio State 7-6 in a shootout on Friday night at Pegula Ice Arena. Captain Danny Dzhaniyev scored the game-tying goal in the final minute of regulation to force overtime.

First Period

The Buckeyes dominated the first period with suffocating defense and offensive zone pressure. They were eventually rewarded for their efforts when Nathan MacBrayer found some room in the low slot and fired home the first goal of the game. Ohio State led 1-0 at the end of the first period.
