Penn State earned a split of the season series against Minnesota with a 69-60 win on Saturday afternoon.
Minnesota raced out to a 13-6 lead in the first four minutes of the game, aided by a pair of threes by Mike Mitchell, Jr. Penn State clawed back after a three-minute field goal drought to cut the deficit to 17-15, but the Gophers extended the lead back to 24-15 with a 7-0 run.
Penn State’s defense continued to settle in the final 10 minutes of the first half, and eventually a 3-point play by Freddie Dilione tied the game at 26.
