A heroic effort by Arsenii Sergeev in net and an overtime winner from Matt DiMarsico lifted No. 12 Penn State to a 3-2 win over No. 7 UConn in the Allentown Regional Final on Sunday night. With the win, the Nittany Lions have secured a spot in the Frozen Four for the first time in program history. Sergeev shut the door on a multitude of high-danger chances against his former team in the third period and overtime to give the Lions the opening they needed to win the game.
First Period
For the second straight game in the tournament, Penn State gave up the first goal of the game.
