The men’s hockey team outlasted Ohio State 3-2 in overtime on Saturday night, extending their win streak to five games. A new Pegula Ice Arena record crowd of 6,604 witnessed the Lions’ upset win over the Buckeyes.
Second Period
After a scoreless first period, captain Danny Dzhaniyev put Penn State on the board first with a power play goal. Reese Laubach found Dzhaniyev with some room just outside the left faceoff circle, and the captain wasted no time with his wrist shot.
Third Period
Riley Thompson tied the game for Ohio State when he deflected Damien Carfagna’s blue-line slap shot past Arsenii Sergeev.
