Penn State defeated No. 1 Michigan State 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday night, giving the Lions their second win in conference play this season and the program’s second ever win against a No. 1 ranked team.
First Period
Penn State took the lead in the first period when Aiden Fink created a 2-on-1 rush and laced home a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle. The Lions scored the opening goal for the second straight game and led 1-0 after the first period.
Second Period
The second was all Michigan State, as the Spartans tied the game five minutes into the frame.
