No. 18 Penn State outlasted No. 1 Michigan State 3-2 in a shootout on Friday night. The Nittany Lions remain at No. 16 in the Pairwise but picked up two critical standings points thanks to an outstanding performance from Arsenii Sergeev.
First Period
Penn State drew first blood when Keaton Peters found Dane Dowiak wide open up the middle in transition. Dowiak snapped home a wrist shot to give the Lions a 1-0 lead, and the Nittany Lions took their 1-0 advantage to the intermission.
