Drake Stoops, one of Bob Stoops’ twin sons, announced on Friday morning that he will join the Oklahoma football program as a preferred walk-on next season.
Drake Stoops is a 5-11, 175-pouond wide receiver from Norman North High School. He was rated the state’s 18th-best player according to Rivals.
Stoops held multiple scholarship offers, according to Rivals, including an opportunity from his father’s alma mater, Iowa. He also turned down Air Force, Arkansas State, Memphis, Ohio, Western Kentucky and Youngstown State to walk-on at OU.
In a social media message, he thanked schools that invested their time and interest in him before announcing he was going to stay home.
