SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Baker Mayfield’s dream college football season will include a New Year’s Day stop to the iconic Rose Bowl.
“That’s an experience that not a lot of people get to do,” Mayfield said before Monday’s Burlsworth Trophy presentation. “I’ve always wanted to play there. Now I’m just looking forward to getting out there for the first time.”
The Oklahoma quarterback said he wanted to return for his senior season to win a national championship. The second-seeded Sooners are now two games away, beginning with a College Football Playoff semifinal contest against No. 3 Georgia.
“It’s a great feeling knowing that we control our own destiny,” Mayfield said.
