Smith Vilbert has been on Penn State’s roster since the 2019 season but has not played in a regular season game since 2021. His last appearance was in the 2023 Rose Bowl. The veteran defensive end missed the entire 2023 season with an unspecified injury. He recorded three sacks in the 2022 Outback Bowl, which set Penn State’s bowl record.
Vilbert should be a regular fixture in Penn State’s defensive line rotation in 2024. He is talented but just needs to stay healthy in his final year of eligibility.
