Sander Sahaydak came to Penn State as one of the top kicker recruits in the 2021 cycle. He initially earned the starting job for the 2023 season following the departure of Jake Pinegar. However, he missed two field goals in the season opener against West Virginia, prompting James Franklin to give transfer Alex Felkins the kicking job.
Now that Felkins has graduated out of the program, Sahaydak will compete with incoming Tulsa transfer Chase Meyer for the starting spot at kicker for 2024. Will he overcome the yips the season? Time will tell.
Only 93 days until Penn State’s season opener at West Virginia!
