We’re 59 days away from Penn State football, which means we turn our attention to former defensive end Pete Massaro.
Hailing from Newtown Square, PA, Massaro came to Happy Valley as a low-end three-star, but it appeared early on that Massaro would be a diamond in the rough. He redshirted his first season (2008) with the Nittany Lions, but was already slated to break into the rotation as a redshirt freshman. Unfortunately, Massaro suffered a torn ACL during the spring, and thus his 2009 season was lost.
Massaro bounced back though, earning a starting defensive end spot in 2010 and finishing the year with 3.
