Coming up next on the countdown as we go inside four weeks until the season officially kicks off is Lamont Payne. The safety redshirted last season as a true freshman, appearing in three games and was named the Developmental Squad’s Defensive Player of the Week for both the Iowa and Rutgers games. While KJ Winston and Zakee Wheatley are expected to start at safety, Lamont is quite determined to carve out his share of playing time in his second season in Happy Valley.
