As the kickoff to the 2019 season draws ever closer, it’s time to take a brief look at a first-year player who not only may see playing time early in his career due to the lack of depth, but also is one of the players who has traveled the farthest from his hometown to State College.
True freshman and native of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany Joseph Darkwa committed to Penn State in February as the fourth-ranked recruit in all of Europe, and a top-70 defensive tackle. At 6’5’’ and 272 pounds, Darkwa has a good frame, but will most likely spend his first season in the weight room as he adjusts to the rigors of the Big Ten.
