Jordan Stout ranked No. 4 in the nation as a freshman at Virginia Tech with an incredible 84.5% touchback percentage on kickoffs. During his first season in Happy Valley, after transferring and sitting out 2018, Stout managed a 79.5% touchback rate. He had 12 touchbacks in the first game of the season against Idaho.
Stout has not recorded a punt in college but is expected to take the job from departed Blake Gillikin this fall. In high school he averaged 47 yards per punt so it is not a stretch to imagine that he will slide right into the spot comfortably.
