Joey Schlaffer committed in October 2021 as a consensus three-star recruit out of Reading. He joined a crowded tight end room in 2023, and redshirted as a true freshman. He is behind Tyler Warren and Khalil Dinkins on the depth chart, and will compete with classmate Andrew Rappleyea for snaps this season. Expect Schlaffer to see the field outside of the red zone (as that is more Dinkins’ domain) and continue to get more playing time in 2025.
As most of you know, Max Granville originally committed to the Nittany Lions in June as a member of the Class of 2025, but just a month later, reclassified to the Class of 2024 and enrolled for fall camp.
