At the #8 spot we check in with newly-minted linebacker Dakaari Nelson, who just made the switch from safety this past off-season. A former four-star recruit, in 2023 Nelson showed up in one game, but was super active on the developmental squad, getting Player of the Week honors twice.
Heading into 2024, expect Nelson’s role in the linebacking corps to be fairly minor. He will definitely play, but with Tony Rojas, Kobe King, Dom DeLuca, Tyler Elsdon, and Keon Wylie ahead of him, it figures to be a tall hill to climb.
