We continue our Tight End Appreciation Week portion of the countdown by recognizing Brenton Strange. A former blue-chip recruit from the 2019 class, Brenton only saw the field towards the end of the beatdown against Idaho in the season opener, but made the most of it by catching his first collegiate touchdown pass.
With former backup Nick Bowers having graduated, Brenton will be one of a few people (Zack Kuntz and Theo Johnson being the others) vying for that coveted No. 2 TE spot behind Pat Freiermuth. Time will tell whether he is able to carve out some playing time for himself, but it speaks volumes about the depth that the program has built at this position given that he could probably start right now for many other FBS programs.
