The Penn State hockey team fell 4-3 to Notre Dame in a shootout on Friday night, extending the team’s conference losing streak to 9 games.
First Period
Grant Silianoff scored first for the Irish at 7:29 of the first period. Tyler Paquette answered less than a minute later for Penn State with a great shot in transition that beat Nicholas Kempf glove side high.
Justin Janecke scored in the closing seconds of the period to give Notre Dame a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period.
Second Period
Both offenses struggled a bit in the second period, but it was Matt DiMarsico who found the back of the net for Penn State with 32 seconds remaining until the intermission.
