With the AHA Championship secured and in the rear-view mirror, No. 7 Penn State women's hockey focuses on the NCAA tournament with its first game on Thursday.
They will take on No. 9 St. Lawrence in the tournament's opening round, with the winner advancing to face the reigning National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes.
These two are no strangers to each other. Penn State met the Saints in the opening round of the NCAA tournament last year. St. Lawrence won, 1-0, with the game's only goal coming in overtime off the stick of Kristina Bahl.
St. Lawrence finished with a 21-11-5 record, slightly worse than Penn State's 31-5-1, and lost in the semifinal round of the ECAC tournament to the runner-up Colgate.
