No. 4 Penn State men’s lacrosse falls to No. 9 Ohio State to open Big Ten play

Under the bright lights on Sunday night, No. 4 Penn State hosted its rival No. 9 Ohio State to kick off the Big Ten lacrosse season.

The Nittany Lions returned to Panzer Stadium fresh off of a convincing 22-8 victory over Robert Morris to open Big Ten play against No. 9 Ohio State.

Penn State fell to the Buckeyes, 13-9.

Ohio State’s defense came out of the gates with intensity, stopping the first Nittany Lions possession before turning up the field. The Buckeyes generated two shots but were twice denied by goaltender Jack Fracyon.

Penn State broke the ice on its next drive, as Liam Matthews rifled a shot from close range past Caleb Fyock.
