The Nittany Lions proved they were the top cats in the conference with a confortable 3-1 win over Northwestern on Friday.
Penn State started the first set with an all-around attack that left the Wildcats in a daze, wondering where to set up their block. Within the blue and white’s first 7 points of the set, four Nittany Lions tallied their first kill of the night.
Jess Mruzik and Camryn Hannah empowered a 4-0 run early on for Penn State that put it up 12-6 with three and two kills respectively.
The Wildcats, who started off poorly, managed to recollect themselves and begin to extend plays whether it was at the net or on the ground.
