No. 21 Penn State women’s gymnastics faces tough test at Lone Star Invitational

Penn State women’s gymnastics is coming off a historic start to the season. The Nittany Lions’ 195.775 victory in their opening tri-meet ties the program record set in 2012 for the highest season-opening score in program history.

However, maintaining that momentum won’t be easy as Penn State hits the road to compete in the Lone Star Collegiate Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, at 2 p.m. Saturday. The competition, which features three top-25 teams, will be fierce.

Each school competing in Texas brings its strengths and weaknesses to the mat. Rather than focus on specific head-to-head matchups, each team’s best path to victory is focusing on their own gymnastics and bringing their best routines to the podium.
