Despite going winless in the Big Ten in the first half of the season, No. 18 Penn State has climbed back into the spotlight.
Now 7-10-3 in conference play, the Nittany Lions’ hot streak has included upset victories over then-No. 1 Michigan State in a shootout and sweeps of then-No. 9 Ohio State and then-No. 19 Wisconsin.
Earlier in the season, Penn State was swept by nearly the entire conference. The resurgence of the blue and white in the second half has been led by the return of a star goaltender, a never-give-up attitude accompanied by comeback efforts and holding on to early leads when they have them.
