In their season opener, the No. 17 Penn State women’s gymnastics team fell to No. 27 North Carolina State in Rec Hall on Saturday.
The Nittany Lions competed neck-and-neck in each rotation, finishing with a 194.125 score, but were snipped by the Wolverines with their promising score of 194.700.
“The crowd made a great environment for us,” Jeff Thompson, women’s gymnastics coach, said. “We met some of our goals which were to open and close each event but we had a few missteps in the middle of rotations.”
Setting the tone in the first rotation, Penn State had a lead of 0.
