The No. 17 Nittany Lions faced off against Rutgers in their last road game of the regular season. They played a high stakes game that will end up determining prime playoff spots in the Big Ten Tournament.
Despite the high-pressure situation, the blue and white were upset by the Scarlet Knights, falling to Rutgers in a 1-0 final. Penn State’s offense never found its rhythm and was shut out on Friday afternoon.
Rutgers pressed heavily during the first quarter of the game with lots of physicality, but no cards came out. Paulina Niklaus made a powerful shot , but the ball hit the goal post, leaving Rutgers scoreless.
