“Letdown” was the word of the week. And boy did it look like a letdown early. The Penn State Nittany Lions, coming off a huge win on the road at Auburn, were in the not-so desirable situation of having to play an overmatched opponent following a huge win.
Central Michigan showed it could score in bunches when given the chance, and, early the first half, that’s exactly what they did. The Chippewas, while turning the ball over plenty of times (Central Michigan committed five turnovers in the game), still managed to produce 363 yards of offense, 166 of which came in the first half.
