Penn State has made a habit of creating insurmountable leads in the first quarter, and today was no different.
The No. 1 Nittany Lions put together a 7-1 lead by the closing seconds of the first quarter. Though a slower second quarter gave Michigan a chance to close the gap, Penn State held on to beat the Wolverines in Ann Arbor by a score of 17-7.
The Nittany Lions picked up their third Big Ten win of the season and extended their winning streak to seven games.
Two regular season games remain for the Nittany Lions.
