For the first time in program history, the Penn State Men’s Basketball Team has earned a first-round bye in the Big Ten Tournament. The 10th-seeded Nittany Lions (16-15) will play their first game in the tournament at 6:30pm on Thursday when they do battle with the seventh-seeded Ohio State Buckeye (19-12).
The game will be shown to a national audience on ESPN2
Barring an unforeseen run to the Big Ten Championship in this weekend’s tournament, the Nittany Lions will not make the NCAA Tournament. However, Penn State has been playing some pretty solid basketball lately. The Nittany Lions are 5-3 in their last 8 games, and this includes a pair of victories over ranked opponents (Iowa and Indiana) at home.
