Penn State’s 27-11 win against UCLA and losses by both Alabama and Tennessee means the Nittany Lions now rank 4th in the Associated Press and 5th in the Coaches Poll. The Big Ten teams joining the Nittany Lions are once again Ohio State (2nd), Oregon (3rd), Indiana (18th in AP, 20th in Coaches) and Illinois (23rd). Michigan dropped 11 spots to 21st in the Coaches and fell 14 places in the AP to 24th. USC fell out of the rankings entirely after the Trojans and the Wolverines both suffered upset losses on the road, Michigan’s to Washington and USC’s to Minnesota.
