News broke late last week that Penn State had found its new running back coach, hiring Stan Drayton to take over the RB room.
Similar to the Jim Knowles hire as defensive coordinator, this can only be viewed as James Franklin’s ongoing work to get Penn State locked in for 2025.
While coaching turnover is often not ideal, and Ja’Juan Seider was one of the better RB coaches out there, it’s hard to look at the current version of the coaching staff and say it’s a downgrade from the 2024 unit that got Penn State to the College Football Playoff semifinals.
